Svbony SV165 Mini Guider Scope 30mm/120mm F4 - W9125A

For how little this scope costs I figured: why not give it a try? After placing my order I had it in my hands just over 24 hours later. It has a simple construction but is well built. The focus mechanism is pretty simple (long threaded tube that you gradually unscrew) but totally functional. I tried the scope with several cameras, my intention being to use it for wide field of view EAA. I have a number of other very small refractors that I use for this same purpose. With my ASI533 there was pronounced coma in the corners, perhaps only the central 50 to 65% of the frame being usable. The scope matched better with the smaller sensor in the ASI585 when I cropped it to be square (2160x2160 pixels). I am not sure if I will end up using this scope for EAA, but it certainly is capable of being a good finder scope or perhaps a guide scope when paired with a refractor.

Save your back …never have to lie on the ground again to align your scope with Vega at zenith. This little $60 scope pairs perfectly with a small chip camera to act as a finder scope that you can read sitting in a chair. Solidly constructed … nice focuser (no slop) and a heavy duty mounting ring (again - no slop). Need a dew shield ? Slide two 2 inch extender tubes over the focus ring. At this price, it’s a steal !!

Very good quality and very reasonable in price what I dislike is that it has a very short dew shield which is part of the lens cell . Overall great item sharp image
