It's a metal bar...so, it works as expected.
What was great was the service from the guys at Telescopes Canada. They helped talk me through this to get the right length and type of bar I required for my rig. Much appreciated and super-helpful!

This dovetail bar kit allows you to replace the wider CGE dovetail bar found on most Celestron 11 Schmidt-Cassegrain and 11 EdgeHD optical tubes with a narrow dovetail, allowing them to be used on mounts that require the narrower CG-5 dovetail bars, such as the Advanced VX mount.
