Store Policies

This Return Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing returns for purchases made through Telescopes Canada. Our goal is to ensure a transparent, fair, and customer-friendly process for all product returns while maintaining manufacturer standards and product integrity.

1. Overview

Telescopes Canada is committed to customer satisfaction. We understand that sometimes products may need to be returned or exchanged due to defects, damage, or changes in purchasing decisions. Our policy covers eligibility, timelines, non-returnable items, restocking fees, and detailed steps for initiating a return.

2. Return Eligibility

Contact Telescopes Canada within 30 days of delivery or pickup to request a return or exchange. The period starts on the carrier-confirmed delivery date or the pickup date. Obtain authorization before sending an item, and follow the return deadline and instructions provided in that authorization. Shipping damage must be reported within 7 days of delivery.

Items must be unused, undamaged, and in the condition received, with all original packaging, manuals, parts, and accessories. Opening the packaging alone does not make an otherwise eligible unused product non-returnable. Final-sale exclusions below apply.

For international shipments, applicable duties, tariffs, import taxes, customs fees, and brokerage charges are calculated and collected at checkout through Zonos. Zonos guarantees the quoted import-charge amount. If a carrier or customs authority requests an additional import payment, contact us promptly before paying so we can help resolve it through Zonos.

3. Return Window and Product Condition

Used, incomplete, or customer-damaged returns may be refused or receive a partial refund after inspection. Authorized exceptions after 30 days are at Telescopes Canada’s discretion.

4. Non-Returnable and Final Sale Items

The following are final sale and are not eligible for discretionary returns, refunds, or exchanges:

  • Gift cards and downloadable software/digital products.
  • Clearance, discontinued, open-box, and refurbished products.
  • Special-order, custom-built, and custom-assembled products.
  • Solar filters, solar glasses, solar viewing kits, and solar telescope kits.

Regular-priced products and ordinary promotional-sale products remain eligible under the other terms of this policy. Final-sale status does not remove applicable manufacturer warranty coverage or rights that cannot be excluded by law. Open-box items are eligible for the full applicable manufacturer warranty.

5. Restocking Fee

A standard 10% restocking fee applies to returns not caused by a verified manufacturing defect or Telescopes Canada error. Telescopes Canada may, at its sole discretion, waive this fee if inspection confirms that the item is in brand-new condition. A waiver is not automatic. Additional deductions may apply for missing parts, damaged packaging, customer-caused damage, or other loss of condition, subject to inspection and applicable law.

6. How to Initiate a Return

Follow these steps to start your return:

1.       Contact our support team at support@telescopescanada.ca with your order number and reason for return.

2.       Await confirmation and authorization from our team. Unauthorized returns may be refused.

3.       Once authorized, securely package the product in its original packaging to prevent shipping damage.

4.       Ship the product to:

   Telescopes Canada
Unit #5, 1 Rosetta Street (back of complex)
   Georgetown, Ontario L7G 3P1

5.       Use a trackable shipping method and retain your receipt. We recommend purchasing shipping insurance.

6.       Once your return is received and inspected, you will be notified by email regarding approval or denial of your refund.

7. Refunds and Processing Time

After an authorized return has been received and inspected, approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may require additional time to post the funds.

8. Return Shipping Responsibility

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a defective product or an error made by Telescopes Canada. If desired, we can provide a discounted prepaid shipping label, and the label cost will be deducted from your refund.

9. Damaged or Defective Products

Inspect your shipment promptly and report shipping damage to support@telescopescanada.ca within 7 days of delivery. Include the order number and clear photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label, and retain all packaging for inspection. Manufacturing defects and warranty issues are assessed separately under the applicable return or manufacturer warranty terms. Transit-loss/damage reimbursement is subject to applicable carrier or insurance coverage, claim approval, and any non-excludable legal rights.

For a verified manufacturing defect or Telescopes Canada error, we will provide the applicable return/replacement instructions and cover authorized return shipping. Warranty shipping follows the manufacturer-specific rules in our Warranty Policy.

10. Refund Exclusions

Original shipping charges are non-refundable once an order ships, except where required by law or expressly agreed by Telescopes Canada. Import duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees are generally non-refundable through Telescopes Canada. Any available import-charge recovery is subject to the applicable Zonos/customs process. Product refunds include applicable refundable product sales tax and are adjusted for authorized restocking, return-label, or condition-related deductions.

11. Warranty Claims

Warranty coverage and procedures are determined by the product manufacturer. In most cases, the manufacturer will repair or replace defective products according to their warranty policy. Telescopes Canada will assist customers with warranty contact information and guidance.
