At Telescopes Canada, we believe astronomy should be accessible to everyone. This summer, our outreach team partnered with Appleby Camps to bring hands-on astronomy education to kids and teens in Oakville.

Our program combined engaging indoor lessons—covering fascinating topics like sunspots and solar activity—with outdoor telescope sessions where campers could explore the wonders of the sky for themselves. Through this unique approach, participants learned about the cosmos in a fun, interactive way, no matter the weather!

We’re proud to have built strong relationships with local educators and camp leaders, making astronomy a highlight of the science camp experience. These efforts reflect our mission to:

  • Inspire curiosity about space among young learners
  • Support local schools and camps with accessible science education
  • Empower our team to share their expertise and passion for astronomy

Our outreach programs are just one of the ways we’re giving back to the community and helping foster a love of science. Whether through camps, schools, or community events, Telescopes Canada is committed to making the night sky come alive for everyone.
