Has been great helped me learn the basics and makes it so I don’t need to have a laptop outside getting covered in dew

Firmware won't upgrade. Unuseable

Purchased the mini a couple of weeks ago as an upgrade to my AAP. After numerous tries the firmware upgrade fails and will not complete and the device remains unusable.

Opened a ticket with ZWO the same evening and they have yet to contact me to resolve. So far, not a great experience.

At this point I just want to return the unit for a refund and perhaps try a different unit.

Very frustrating overall.

The biggest differences between the ASIAIR Plus and ASIAIR Mini are:

Smaller size and weight for the Mini
No Ethernet port, USB 3.0 ports, SD card slot, power switch and output voltage monitoring on the Mini

As an affordable alternative to the ASIAIR Plus it will work well for deep sky imaging but is not recommended for high-speed (lucky imaging) planetary imaging with the USB 2.0 ports limiting the camera download speeds, though this can be helped by decreasing your area of interest when imaging.
