Description

New!  Quick focus release brackets for SCTs!

These brackets allow you to mount a ZWO Electronic Automatic Focuser (EAF)  onto your SCT telescope.

All necessary hardware is provided, unless already supplied by ZWO with the EAF.

Printed in durable, temperature tolerant PETG filament.

*SCT EAF-QUICK Installation Instructions:
Please follow carefully! Installation of the EAF-QUICK bracket for SCTs is straightforward and requires only a few simple steps. Tools needed: 1.5mm, 2.5mm, 3mm hex keys (not provided)

  1. Remove the outer knob from the focuser (Celestron rubber grip or Meade metal knob) to reveal the brass focuser pinion shaft.
  2. Push the pulley onto the EAF fully, being careful to align the flat on the pulley with the flat on the EAF pinion. Using a 1.5mm hex key, secure the pulley to the EAF pinion by gently tightening the set screws. Do not over tighten the screws.
  3. From the front of the bracket just above the bracket mounting holes, slide the belt through the slot.
  4. Place the EAF onto the dovetail platform and slide the platform out enough to expose the through holes at the rear, but leave the platform connected to the bracket. Using a 3mm hex key, secure the EAF to the platform using (2) M4x10mm socket head screws (included with the EAF).
  5. Slide the EAF/platform all the way forward. From underneath the bracket, make sure the belt is around the pulley.
  6. Bolt the bracket onto the scope using (3) M3x14mm (Celestron) or (3) #6-32 x ½” (Meade) hex head screws. Note: it might be helpful to orient the bracket “up” so that gravity pulls the EAF down.
  7. Push the flexible coupler/knob over the brass focuser pinion. As you push it on, make sure the belt is also around the flexible coupler gear.
  8. Screw the provided M6 knobs into the bracket and slide the EAF/platform out until the belt is tight. Provide even pressure on both knobs.
